SmartShare secures data traffic for businesses in remote areas
For the company called OCCO, the offer of a hosted IT platform was music to their ears. But poor internet access in Gilleleje, which is located in the northern part of Sealand, Denmark, almost put a stop to a good business idea. SmartShare's FairRouter solved this Gordian knot.
More and more businesses are replacing their local servers and IT departments with hosted IT solutions. The prospect of cash savings and increased flexibility has brought both large and small businesses to the hosting market, but for a large number of business that are located outside large cities, hosting has only been a theoretical option. Internet access in outlying areas is quite simply too poor to be able to guarantee stable and sufficient network capacity between the hosting center and the business in either direction.
